Surrey Heath Youth Council (SHYC)
Who can join? Anyone aged 11 to 18 (school years 7 to 13) who lives or goes to school in Surrey Heath can apply to join the SHYC. The Youth Council needs people with all sorts of skills such as organising, fund-raising, IT, web, graphics and design, video, running meetings and presenting. It’s also a wonderful way to learn some of these skills. SHYC is committed to achieving equality and fairness. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, particularly from underrepresented groups.

The Surrey Hills Adventure Company (The SHAC)
The Surrey Hills Adventure Company run Holiday Adventure Days which are located at Belmont Preparatory School, Holmbury St Mary.
The Holiday Adventures are an innovative, proven way of allowing children to develop and grow by spending time outside in a safe and supportive environment. The Adventures are based on principle Forest School teaching techniques, which are proven to increase children’s motivation, confidence and communication skills. Your child will take part in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks in a safe woodland environment. Accompanied by a trained instructor, they will make new friends and learn new skills.
The general age range for young people attending the Woodland Adventures are from 6 to 12 years old and the day runs from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
The SHAC also run outdoor activities all year round for all ages, including paddle boarding, wild swimming and mountain biking. You can also arrange to have birthday parties and corporate events with the SHAC.

Surrey Hills and Rivers specialise in providing wholesome days in the countryside for young people. We now have places available for countryside play sessions specifically designed for young people that can thrive in small groups and may have SEND. Suitable for children age 8+ and accompanied younger children. Also available: - family sessions - parental respite whilst remaining on site (if desirable) We will provide a tranquil countryside setting and calm activities for a socially positive and stress-free break for children and parents alike (where applicable). We have various outdoor spaces to suit the group.
