At this stage, the following professionals can provide input:
- Surveyor/architect/project manager
- District/Borough (D/B) Council, including the planning department
- Home Improvement Agency (HIA)
- Your child/young person's Occupational Therapist (OT).
Pre-building work starting
At this stage, the contractor/builder will:
- provide quotes for agreed plans
- provide estimations of building work timescales
- confirm if the property needs vacating during the building works, and for how long
- give all the above to the surveyor/architect/project manager.
Building work starts
At this stage, the contractor/builder will:
- attend the pre-start site meeting before building work starts
- carry out the building work according to the Schedule of Work (SoW)
- update you and the surveyor/architect/project manager on progress of building work
- provide best estimates of completion dates.
