Hersham Youth Trust

The Hersham Youth Trust is an established local volunteer youth led community registered charity and social enterprise. Since 2002 it has enabled a successful and vital accessible community purpose built centre for open access youth work in Arch Road, Hersham attracting over 10,000 of our communities young people annually each and every year in a safe warm, friendly youth led environment embracing all different, all equal, all welcome.

Currently we offer all our communities young people six open access youth work sessions each and every week including every school holiday and half terms.

  • On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings we aim to target young people from the ages of fourteen and open from 7:30pm until 10.00pm.
  • On Monday and Thursday evenings we aim to target young people from the ages of eleven to fourteen and open from 7:00pm until 9.00pm.
  • On Friday evenings we aim to target young people from the ages of thirteen and open from 7:30pm until 10.00pm.
  • On Saturday afternoons we aim to target young people from the ages of thirteen and open from 1.00pm until 5.00pm.
  • On Sundays we aim to offer all young people various special activities, experiences, projects, and opportunities throughout the year including day trips to Brighton and Portsmouth, meaningful work experience opportunities in construction and other activities, targeted peer training opportunities on issues that are locally important to our young people.

High Ashurst Outdoor Education Centre

An outdoor education centre set in 56 acres of wood and heath land offering a range of land based activities and specialising in tailor made programmes in adventurous and environmental projects. There is a wide range of land-based activities on offer and groups can camp on site either in their own tents or in tents available from the centre.

Activities can be adapted for disabled groups and there is an off-road wheelchair trail and orienteering course.

Hindhead Karate Club

Hine Tai Chi School

Classes for beginners and students are held on Thursday nights at 7:30pm-8:30pm, with an advanced class for senior students at 8:30pm-9:30pm. Many students join the class on their own, and some join with a friend or partner. The class is a friendly and welcoming group that support one another and have fun learning Tai Chi together.

The core syllabus for all students includes:

Historical Association - West Surrey branch

The Historical Association aims to further the study, teaching and enjoyment of history at all levels: teacher, student, amateur and professional.

Entry to meetings is free for HA members and students. Local membership of the branch, which gives free entry to all meetings, is £15.00 per year. Non-members £5.00 per meeting, payable at the door.

All meetings start at 7.30pm. They plan to hold most 2022/23 meetings at St Nicolas Church Hall, Bury St, Guildford GU2 4AW, but some will be via Zoom.
