Children and Family Health One Stop

One Stop is the centralised referral and triage service for health and other professionals to refer to Surrey's specialist children’s community services.

Its clinically led team triages referrals for targeted and specialist children’s community services:

  • Paediatric therapies: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech, and Language Therapy (early years and acute intervention)
  • Enuresis and Continence
  • Tongue Tie (Ankyloglossia)
  • PIMHS (Parent-Infant Mental Health Service)
  • Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Community Developmental Paediatrician Service

Referrals are sent by the One Stop team to the right service. If the referral does not meet service criteria the team will signpost to other appropriate services.

Children and Family Health Surrey

Children and Family Health Surrey- Developmental Paediatricians

The Developmental Paediatric Service (DPS) is a family centered service dedicated to helping children and young people to manage health problems that may be affecting their developmental progress.

The Surrey wide service is led by consultants and assesses children and young people experiencing a wide range of developmental difficulties related to:

  • Developmental delay or disorder
  • Neurological disability
  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) - under 6yrs
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) - under 6yrs
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Severe learning difficulties (SLD) and/or complex needs (the DPS may carry out these assessments in schools)

Children and Family Health Surrey- Immunisations

The immunisation team is responsible for the planning and delivery of the school-age immunisation programmes in Surrey. The vaccination programmes are primarily carried out in schools, although we also offer clinics in other community settings for home-educated children and other children depending on their individual needs.

The service provides assessment, therapy and advice for babies, children, and young people with physical difficulties from birth up to 19 years old. The team of physiotherapists have specialist skills, experience and knowledge of childhood development and childhood disability.

Children and Family Health Surrey- School Nursing

The school nursing teams are made up of school nurses, registered nurses, nursery nurses and clinical health assistants.

The School Nursing team works across Surrey to promote physical health and emotional wellbeing in schools and in the community. This includes issues such as sexual health, illnesses, healthy eating, exam stress and bullying.

Children and Family Health Surrey- School Nursing (specialist school)

Our Special School Nursing Teams are based in the eight Severe Learning Disability (SLD) Special Schools across Surrey, covering nursery to 19 years.

The Registered Nurses and Assistant Practitioners in the school teams work closely with pupils, parents, carers, teaching staff and a wide range of other professionals to identify the pupils’ health needs and provide agreed care plans.

The Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition brings together leading charities to campaign jointly on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
