YMCA East Surrey - Community Wellbeing Team

YMCA East Surrey’s Wellbeing Coordinators offer support to children and young people, aged 8-18, to help support mental health and emotional wellbeing.

When a child or young person is referred, a Wellbeing Coordinator will meet with them to help identify goals and achieve positive change through an outcome-based approach.

Support might include:

  • Regular 1:1 meetings (up to 8 weeks) or small group support
  • Getting tailored advice and guidance
  • Help to access relevant resources
  • Help to attend local groups
  • Finding other support in the local community

The Wellbeing Coordinator can support young people with a range of emotional and mental health challenges such as anxiety, low mood, emotion management, bullying, loss, self-esteem, body image, friendship and relationship issues, as well as many other concerns.

They cover Epsom & Ewell, Reigate & Banstead, Tandridge

YMCA Hillbrook House

YMCA Hillbrook House offers safe, secure and affordable accommodation and related services for young homeless people. They can help you access housing benefit to pay for your stay, and you can stay for up to two years.

The facility consists of 44 self-contained bedsit rooms (one of which is specifically designed for disabled access), an activity room, and laundry facilities. 40 of these include housing support, where you will be supported in accessing education, training or work as part of the move towards independent living.

YMCA Wise Project

The WISE Project works to support children and young people to stay safe in their relationships. It provides case work support and peer group work to children and young people identified as at risk/or subject to exploitation, working collaboratively with other professionals to support interventions that lead to prosecutions and measures to disrupt the activity of perpetrators.

Yo Yos Playgroup

Wednesday 9:15 to 11:15am, term time

Held every Wednesday (during term time) 9.15 to 11.15am in the York Rooms at St John's. A group for babies through to preschool children and their carers. You do not need to be a regular churchgoer, or know much about church to attend. All you need to do is come and enjoy yourself.

Yo Yos is run by a team of volunteers from St John’s and includes free play, tidy-up time, coffee and cake for the adults and finishing with a story and lively time of singing action songs! For this term please bring your own drink and snack for your child / children.

Yorda Adventures - Under 5s Stay and Play

This session has free play with access to all of the Playhouse. They have a range of specialised equipment including: a sunken trampoline, specialised swings, companion bikes, sensory lights, magic mat, soft play, lots of toys and more! As well as free play with access to all of the Playhouse they also run a short, no pressure sensory activity that you can choose to join in with. This could include messy play, painting, water play, or sensory stories!

The Family Projects are exclusively for any family who has a young person with special educational needs and learning disabilities (SEND). You do not need to qualify for our Specialist Childcare to attend these sessions.

A Playworker will be around for a friendly chat, to play and to give you a little extra support throughout the session.
