Support After Murder & Manslaughter (SAMM)

SAMM provides a wide range of peer support services to people bereaved by murder and manslaughter. All services are available for the bereaved, regardless of how long ago they lost a loved one. They support close relatives, wider family members and communities including people affected by mass fatality events.

Support for BAME (black, asian and minority ethnic) Women

Support and help to empower black, asian and minority ethnic women. One to one support to help improve self confidence and skills. Confidential listening support, advice, information and signposting can be provided for women who are vulnerable and lack confidence.

If you are lonely, isolated or lacking confidence don't let language and cultural barriers restrict you.

Open Monday to Thursday from 10am to 3pm

Community Point offers young people and adults a way to connect with their local communities.

Drop in to the Community Hub in Guildford or call our Community Connectors who take time to help find what you are looking for. It could be signposting, researching activities of interest in the area or giving a bit more support if you’re struggling to get involved. Community Point is free to use for anyone living in the Guildford and Waverley area.

Surrey Adult Learning

Surrey Supported Learning (part of Surrey Adult Learning) works to create positive outcomes for people with learning disabilities by helping to promote confidence and independence.

They offer courses for people with learning disabilities designed to promote independent living, personal development, and employment skills opportunities. Their seven centres are in Sunbury, Esher, Molesey, Woking, Guildford, Farnham, and Camberley.

Courses are open to those aged 19 or over (or aged 16+ if linking with us from a SEN school). They also deliver online courses via Zoom. Learners thrive and achieve as they explore learning led by teams of experienced Tutors, Supported Learning Assistants, and dedicated Volunteers.

Surrey Against Domestic Abuse offers support, advice and information on how to get help for people experiencing domestic abuse, their family, friends and those working with them.

There are four local branches in Surrey offering outreach work and courses to help people who have lived or are living with domestic abuse.

Surrey Appropriate Adult Volunteer Service (SAAVS)

The Surrey Appropriate Adult Volunteer Service offers support to vulnerable adults and young people who find themselves detained in Police custody. It provides trained people to act as Appropriate Adults to ensure that the detainee is treated correctly and that the detainee understands, as fully as possible, what is happening in police custody.
