Epsom Foodbank

Working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK, Trussell Trust foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis.

Foodbanks partner with a wide range of care professionals such as doctors, health visitors, social workers and police to identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher.

Jobcentre Plus is a government-funded employment agency whose aim is to help people of working age and claiming benefits to find employment. It provides resources to find work such as Jobpoints (touch-screen computer terminals), Jobseeker Direct (telephone service) and the Jobcentre Plus website. Epsom Parochial Charities

Grants are available for people in need who live in the ancient parish of Epsom. Contact the charity to find out if you live within the parish boundaries.

Applications should be submitted by CAB. CAB should ensure that the applicant is receiving all of the benefits that they are entitled to before applying for a grant.

Applications are considered all year round, but please note that the application process can take around two months.

Equipment for Disabled Children (EDC)

They provide equipment which enables children to live more comfortably, to play in more creative ways, to learn more easily and to enjoy better mobility.

Their eligibility for support is:

  • a disabled child that lives or is educated in SW Surrey (in and around the Guildford area)
  • and/or is supported by the paediatric team at the Royal Surrey County Hospital
  • requires specialist equipment that will not be provided by social care, health or other statutory funding
  • the equipment has been recommended and assessed as being appropriate by one of the child’s care or health professionals
  • successful applications are not influenced by household income
